Employment Lawyer

Hybrid Flexible Hours

Are you a talented and experienced Employment Law professional who wants to move away from private practice and timesheets to a more engaging, but still professional and regulated environment?

Would you like to work with very successful blue chip companies?

Are you able to build great client relationships, providing practical, commercial solutions with the ability to ‘turn your pinstripes up and down’?

Are you ‘can do’ and excited by the prospect of a varied workload, innovating and contributing to commercial projects and business development?

If you’ve just said yes to all of these then we can offer you a great place to work where experiences are enriching, clients feel like friends, our pride is obvious, camaraderie is cherished and the metaphorical sofa is comfy!

We also recently became the first organisation, in the World, to achieve the new ISO International Standard for Diversity & Inclusion.

Vista is a niche employment law service with a very different offering to the traditional law firms or large employment consultancies. We act almost like an in-house employment law and ER service, providing commercially focused employment law and employee relations advice along with tribunal representation, investigations, training and e-learning solutions. We are passionate about understanding the needs of our clients and work closely with them in order to provide a unique integrated service delivery model. We also have a growing voice in the digital/social media world, providing thought leadership and great resources for HR professionals – take a look at our website and social media posts.

You will have solid experience of working with a professional client base, including HR Directors, in large organisations with excellent knowledge of all areas of employment law and a practical approach to resolving employee relations challenges. You will have the ability to balance competing priorities and time pressures. Training experience is desirable but not essential, more important is your willingness and ability to deliver innovative and engaging experiences to our clients.

The role will involve some travel to client premises and employment tribunals across the UK which will sometimes necessitate overnight stays, however these are planned in advance.  Senior Employment Lawyers will have more travel due to the nature of their role.  You can view the Senior Employment Lawyer job description here Senior-Employment-Lawyer-JD-July-2020.pdf   and the Employment Lawyer job description here Employment-Lawyer-JD-July-2020.pdf

We will be closing our office in Cheadle in April and all employees will then have the option to work from home or from a serviced rented office space local to them.  We will have a day together as a team every six to eight weeks at venues in the northwest.

Please apply with your CV and a covering letter with your salary expectations explaining why we would be good for each other.  If you’d rather have an informal chat first, that’s fine, just get in touch.
